Nearly every year (Hurricane Sandy excluded), Down returns to New Jersey’s famous Starland Ballroom and packs the house with it’s dedicated fans old and many new, never leaving a dry body or eye in the house when the show finally does end.

Between the insane amount of crowd surfers and old school fans alike singing along to “Lifer,” “Stone The Crow,” “Witchtripper” and “Conjure,” all the fans were working their way to the front to get a high five from vocalist Phil Anselmo or or trying to reach out to guitarist Pepper Keenan and air riff alongside his powerful guitar skills.

Right now they are at the end of this tour cycle which was brief which also followed Anselmo’s tour with Superjoint Ritual. Any additional information would be found on their website or Facebook pages.

Upcoming this fall, is Keenan’s Corrosion of Conformity touring around the nation and joining Motorhead’s Motorboatwhich still has a few cabins available and has a great lineup which includes Slayer as the headliner, alongside Motorhead.

On this short ‘Eastbound and Down’ tour opened up with Mountain of Wizard and Child Bite who both offered a feel of Southern rock and both were bands of Anselmo’s Housecore Record Label.

Child Bite offered a classic hard core metal sound which have certainly gained a few new fans at the New Jersey show. Mountain of Wizard offered more of a Prog metal sound which was also received a great reception by the crowd and definitely warmed up the crowd for Down.
